The Blind Rabbit- The First Review!!!!!

The Blind Rabbit-

I found out about this place called The Blind Rabbit about a month ago. It was brought up to me as a hidden secret at the Anaheim Packing House, steeped in mystery. After trying to find some info on it online I finally found it. The reviews were good and the menu looked incredible. Between the fried chicken skin, duck confit Mac and cheese, among a whole list of crafted drinks, I had to go check it out. I made a reservation a week before, which if you would like to it is easy as hell. Just go to their yelp or Facebook page, that's it. When I arrived I had a general idea where it was. I don't want to spoil it for you, but the hints I will say is hot pot and sake. After you go in they tell you the rules, yes there is rules. You have 90 minutes in there, talk quietly it is a speakeasy, don't stand at the bar, the rules they will tell you when you make your reservations. Now, I ordered the Chicken Skin and Duck Confit Mac 'n Cheese along with their signature Whiskey Sour. The chicken skin was amazing, the seasoning was on point, it was crispy, it was incredible. Now the highlight of the night by light years was the mac n cheese. Ever eaten something so good it changes your life? Ya, it's that good. I have had duck once before, I wasn't a fan at the time. Duck confit is where they cook the duck in its own fat, stored in its own fat, and pan fried in its own fat. Along with a ton of butter and cheese, maybe that gives some scope to how amazing this dish was. The whiskey sour, it was smooth, it had a tang, it was good. I feel I have to touch onto the ambience of the place a little. It was dark, but just perfectly lit. There was things to see in every corner, hell even the wallpaper was inviting. If you go there take a moment to enjoy the decor. It's what gives the Rabbit its soul. Fun little fact, the food is cooked upstairs and sent down via dumb waiter. Overall, I would give this place a 9-10. For the details and the food. Everything was calculated even the exit to the way they give you your check. ( In a book ). Go check out the Blind Rabbit. I'll be there very often to try their seasonal menu.
